Queen’s College, Taunton is one of the leading independent boarding schools based in the South West of the country, educating over 700 boys and girls (day and boarding), aged three months to 18 years, and is part of the Methodist Independent Schools Trust.

We are looking for a specialist teacher who can teach Economics at A level; and with a commitment to continuing professional development. The successful candidate will join our Business and Economics team in September at an exciting time in the department’s development. Both subjects are popular options and exam results are strong. Also in September we are expanding our range to introduce a technical Business qualification and a KS3 Business course. Each teacher has his/her own classroom and the department has a great shared office base.
The post is also open to NQT’s who are able to teach Economics and they will have the opportunity to be supported in their development through Queen’s College’s excellent NQT programme. For an experienced teacher there is the potential opportunity to take on year leader responsibility which will carry a TLR and a time remission.
The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to be involved in the wider life of a busy boarding and day school and will have ideas to develop the co-curricular offering of the department as well as enjoying being a form tutor and contributing to the wide co-curricular programme Queen’s offers.
