Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Economics and Business studies on either a full-time or part-time permanent basis from September 2021. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving young independent day school for boys aged 11-18 situated in the heart of London. Since opening in 2015 the School has quickly grown to around 400 boys and, following on from strong GCSE results, this summer they celebrated the success of their first A Level pupils who took up places at some of the most competitive universities in the UK, Europe and North America. 

Their vision is to provide an outstanding, progressive all-round education, supporting pupils to achieve academically and to develop as people, fully preparing them to meet the challenges of being a young man in the twenty-first century and ready to contribute to the communities in which they live.

Academic excellence is central, complemented by their aim to nurture genuine enjoyment of learning and intellectual curiosity.  Their pupils take pride in their progress, actively participate in their learning in the classroom and gradually become independent learners. The school was highly successful in delivering remote learning and now has e-learning embedded in the curriculum.

The Economics and Business Department is currently made up of two dedicated teachers and will expand to three for the next academic year as the Sixth Form continues to grow. Economics and Business have been very popular subjects with over 60% of Year 12 boys choosing to study Economics or Business at A Level. There are currently five Economics teaching groups and two Business groups across Years 12 and 13 and they expect this to increase next year. Economics and Business are only taught at A Level and both subjects follow the Eduqas exam board specification.

  • Have outstanding subject knowledge, academic qualifications and to be able to communicate their enthusiasm;
  • Be able to deliver dynamic and effective lessons to the full ability range of pupils at the School;
  • Highly effective communication skills for interacting with all members of the School community;
  •  A genuine commitment to pastoral care and the welfare and safeguarding of pupils;
  • Interests and abilities that can enhance the School’s co-curricular programme;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills;
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills.
