Two Teachers of Economics

Required for September 2018

The governors of Reading School wish to appoint passionate, well-qualified and experienced Teachers of Economics. A degree in Economics and excellent subject knowledge is essential. Reading School is a selective boys’ state school located in central Reading.

The successful applicant must be skilled at designing and delivering innovative and engaging lessons to academically able students at GCSE and A Level in Economics and will have responsibility for teaching Economics across KS3 and KS4. They would also be expected to contribute to the delivery of history at KS3 and KS4, so relevant experience of teaching History at (at least) KS3 is also essential. 

You will join a successful school, working in a department which attracts high student uptake at both Key Stage 4 and in the Sixth Form. In September 2017, over 90% of Economics students at Reading School gained A*-B grades at A Level and 85% gained A*-A grades at GCSE. The subject is thriving at our School and has a reputation for academic excellence. This is a full time post commencing in September 2018. 

Reading School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check. Salary will be in line with teacher pay scales and range from £22,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.
