Main Pay Range with the possibility of a TLR for a suitably qualified candidate
Required September 2021
Ernest Bevin College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher of Economics who has a proven record of raising attainment. Economics is offered at KS4 and KS5 and is a popular A Level subject with the majority of students who study the subject in the Sixth Form continuing their studies at university.
The successful candidate will work in a department consisting of Computer Science, Business Studies and Economics and will need to be proactive in maintaining the profile of this subject. You will gain invaluable experience in leading and delivering the Economics curriculum and to improve on already high standards. Economics follows the AQA GCSE and A Level specification.
Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys’ school with just under 1200 students on roll. We have a mixed sixth form of 300 students based in state of the art buildings close to good transport links.
We are an Elite Sports College competing at national and international level in a range of sports. We have fantastic sports facilities including a swimming pool and fitness studio and they are extensively used by students and staff free of charge. Staff also enjoy social football, yoga and exercise sessions and other social activities.
Over a 100 of our sixth form leavers continue their studies at university with a large proportion (approximately two thirds) choosing to study a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) subject.
We work with the Royal Marines to provide a Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the charity Greenhouse Sports to provide further opportunities for our students beyond the school day.
Closing date: 10th May 2021 at 12 noon
Interviews: We reserve the right to interview before the closing date, so candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible.
