Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of an experienced Teacher of Economics who can play a key role challenging and inspiring pupils to achieve their full potential in Economics at a school based in Wandsworth. The ability to teach Business to a similar level would be desirable.

As a member of the school's teaching community, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in teaching, based on your deep knowledge of Economics and its pedagogy. You will create a challenging and stimulating classroom climate that will motivate pupils to learn, think independently, take risks, and perform to the best of their abilities, ensuring they have every opportunity to fulfil their potential.

You will be joining a department where lively discussions, both in the department’s office and inside lessons between teachers and students, are a characteristic of the department, where they engage with students in debates about the Economics and Business issues of the day.

You will need an Economics degree with high honours, as well as QTS, and a proven excellent record of Economics teaching at GCSE and A level.

From the briefing to all staff, to the half termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a common room committee, there’s ongoing dialogue about the school’s aims.

All applicants need to have the Right to Work in the UK to be considered for the role.
