Applications are sought from inspirational English teachers who can clearly demonstrate creativity and a commitment to academic excellence to join Robert Gordon’s College in its vibrant English department. 

It is anticipated that this role will be available until June 2018.

English is taught to all pupils in S1-S4, with full presentation at National 5 in S4 and almost full presentation at Higher Level in S5. There are ten teaching groups of mixed ability in S1 and S2, and ten classes set according to ability in S3 - S5.  In S6 there can be up to three Advanced Higher classes.

The English Department is very involved in Literary and Debating activities where the College has a strong record of successful competition.  There is also an active link with the Drama Department, especially in connection with the teaching of Media Studies.

Salary will be based on SNCT scales together with the Robert Gordon’s Allowance of 6%. Candidates will be expected to be willing to assist with extracurricular activities and/or Games, and to play a full part in the wider life of the school.
