Torry Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Torry, Aberdeen. It is a community state school and is set to be renamed Lochside Academy following a school vote in November 2016. The Torry Academy website identifies a school roll of 460 secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 12-18.
The school was built in 1927, with a granite building addition in 1947 that now holds classrooms for many of the main curricular subjects. The school received further extension work in the late 1970s to provide the school with a three-storey block containing facilities such as a library and canteen as well as subject classrooms for modern languages and home economics.

Education Scotland
“The school is maintaining and further developing strong links with other agencies, local businesses and international companies. These links are benefiting young people’s learning experiences. The school is working more closely with its associated primary schools to further improve young people’s learning in S1. Work has begun to develop better links with community learning and development. Staff continue to keep parents well informed about key events in young people’s learning, such as assessments.”
