Kincorth Academy Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Kincorth, south of Aberdeen. It is a community state school. Good Schools Guide identifies a school roll of around 800 secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18.

The school was first opened in 1971 to serve the area which had recently developed quite a great deal over the previous decades. Since the 2000s, the schools have reduced numbers of school houses as a result of falling school roll and school restructuring.

Values and Vision

Kincorth Academy is a school that always aims for excellence and encourages its learners to reach the highest academic heights possible. It looks for students with high aspirations, a good work ethic and good behaviour and respect for their environment, all things that are developed during their time at the school to make sure that pupils leave as well-rounded citizens. There is a positive climate of learning in the school, and it manages to be flexible around providing learning support for its young people.

Education Scotland

“Across the school, relationships between staff and young people are positive and support effective learning. Young people engage well in lessons and most enjoy their learning. Almost all behave well in class and around the school. They work well together on tasks and enjoy opportunities to share ideas and learn together. Most teachers share the purpose of the lesson with young people and give clear explanations. Young people listen attentively and respond well during class discussions.”
