We are a selective state grammar school for boys with academy status and a co-educational Sixth Form. There are currently 1040 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 370 students of whom about 120 are girls.
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of English to cover maternity leave from September 2022. Candidates must have significant experience of teaching English Language and English Literature to GCSE. The ability to lead the AS- Level drama course would be a major advantage.
An interest in being involved in the wide range of extra-curricular activities that play an important part in the life of this school would also be welcome. The English Department organises or contributes to activities such as school drama productions and dance events; a house poetry competition; a creative writing group; a senior debating club; a range of theatre trips and the school magazine.

About Haberdashers' Adams
Haberdashers' Adams (formerly Adams' Grammar School) is a co-ed selective state grammar school in the market town of Newport, Shropshire. Founded in 1656, the School welcomes boys and girls aged 11-18 as day pupils, with boarding for boys.
Entrance to the School is highly competitive. The most common points of entry are via an 11+ examination for Year 7, or following GCSE exam results. Former pupils of the school are known as Old Novaportans.
