Do you have the passion and commitment to support us to achieve our mission statement - “No Goal Is Beyond Us!”

Are you ready to join a school awarded ‘Good’ by Ofsted?

Are you an outstanding teacher, an innovative creative practitioner, an inspirational professional who wishes to move, or begin their career within this exciting position?

Our English and Performing Arts Departments require a talented and dedicated teacher to join them in moving the subjects towards even greater heights. Drama is studied at KS3 for 1 lesson per week in a specialist room and we currently offer BTEC Performing Arts. English is taught creatively and the successful candidate will teach approximately 0.5 English and 0.5 Drama and can expect to teach across both key stages.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join us. We are a forward thinking school and team that aims to challenge and engage all students from Year 7 through to Year 11 and this is an exceptional opportunity to be part of the robust journey, continuing to actively raise the standards that we have worked hard to achieve. Last year we achieved a 100% pass rate in Drama with 29% achieving Distinction/Distinction*. We continue to strive for improvement within English and last year achieved our best results ever with 78% A* - C. 85% of students making expected progress and 37% made more than expected progress.

Both English and Drama benefit from being suited in new buildings with new furniture, text books, technology and climate control in all classrooms. The new Drama Studio was officially opened last year. You will become part of a highly supportive team, with good/outstanding teachers within an outstanding working environment; benefiting from up-to-date technologies that support the delivery of high quality teaching and learning. We have strong systems in place to support new colleagues into the profession and are committed to developing good pedagogical practice through effective CPD and mentoring.

The successful candidates will be, or have the potential to be:

  • An outstanding classroom teacher
  • Passionate about developing their classroom practice
  • Able to engage, challenge and motivate students and staff to raise standards and achievement at all levels
  • Willing to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours of Hartshill School
  • A creative and dynamic professional
  • Reflective, willing to embrace new ideas and technology
  • An effective team member, collaborating and contributing over time to the development of the department
