Values and Vision

As a committed Catholic school, St Edmund’s Catholic Academy places a huge amount of importance on faith and the teaching of the Catholic Church. The school motto is “To Love and Serve the Lord”, and the school expresses this through consistent and numerous acts of charity and religious retreats. In addition to this, the school’s students are given regular opportunities to attend mass at local churches in Wolverhampton. The school still maintains its focus on academic exploits, however, with a strong and engaging curriculum available to students, and a sixth form working with other local schools to offer a range of academic and vocational subjects.

Ofsted

“Teaching supports students’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. For example, in religious education lessons, students reflected thoughtfully on problems of evil and suffering and on the moral messages in Psalms. In geography, they developed a good understanding of people’s different reactions to recent natural disasters.”
