MPS

To start from 1st September 2022 we are looking for an exceptional English teacher who will inspire and motivate students in this high achieving state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form.

We need someone with dynamism who will create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an ability to deliver outstanding academic results and exemplary classroom practice. This position is equally suitable for an experienced teacher and one new to the profession.

The English results are very strong both at GCSE (96% grades 9-4 in 2021) and at A’ level (100% A*-C in 2021). The English Faculty is proud of the success of their students at both GCSE and A level, and of the many students who take their English studies further at university. The successful candidate would be expected to teach English Language and Literature up to GCSE. Depending on qualifications and experience the successful candidate may also get the opportunity to teach English A’ Level.

The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life which includes sport, music, drama, outdoor activities, debating and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.

Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Certificate is required for this post prior to commencement.

The Application Pack is attached to this advert. Applications should be made via the TES Quick Apply by noon on Monday 24th January. Interviews are expected to take place the following week w/c Monday 31st January
