Teacher of English
MPS
Required for September 2018
“This outstanding school exemplifies the very best in educational provision”*
Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, Yardleys is a heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy with 900 students on roll. The School is ambitious and well managed with an inspiring learning environment. Teachers benefit from generous non-contact time, weekly training and smaller than average class sizes.
The collaborative ethos which permeates all parts of the school is summed up by our motto “Working together for a better future”. This results in a highly supportive community, which allied with excellent student behaviour and a well organised school, allows teachers to focus on their teaching and improving their practice.
The English department is a thriving, dynamic, innovative team. The faculty consists of English, literacy and drama and all teachers benefit from a collaborative ethos. We are looking for the right person who is supportive and eager to continue to help and develop this crucial department in the school. Familiarisation with GCSE criteria and some knowledge of the new specifications would be ideal. As well as strengths in planning we are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to use data to inform their teaching.
Yardleys offers a commitment to professional development opportunities, an excellent induction programme, a healthcare package, well behaved students who are keen to learn and state of the art facilities.
We would welcome applications from NQTs or those with more experience. NQTs will be offered the option of starting in July.
