We are seeking an inspirational teacher of English, relentless in their pursuit of excellence for our students and with an infectious enthusiasm for language and literature in September 2022:

The successful applicant will:

  • be excited about developing the curriculum at each key stage within the faculty in a collaborative forum
  • teach English to the highest of professional and personal standards across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
  • be motivated and passionate about working in a richly diverse educational community
  • be able to inspire students and staff within a culture of incredibly high standards, expectations, and outcomes for all regardless of prior attainment
  • be an excellent role-model and teacher of English Language and Literature with enthusiasm for the potential teaching of Media Studies
  • have excellent communication skills to forge positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, support staff, governors and other community and business links

St Thomas Aquinas is a large and thriving Catholic comprehensive school situated in the town of Kings Norton, in the south of Birmingham. Along with seven local primary schools, it is part of Lumen Christi MAC, a growing Catholic Multi Academy. The secondary school with a sixth form educates girls and boys aged between 11 and 18. There are approximately 1,160+ pupils on roll with around 160 students in the Sixth Form.
