Teacher of English – MPR

Up to 50% training fees could be paid to an outstanding candidate.

Required   Easter or September 2018

Would you like to join a large, highly successful English Faculty that inspires students and is committed to high achievement for all?

Would you enjoy belonging to a supportive team that constantly strives to be outstanding in its day to day practice and thrives on the wide range of CPD opportunities offered by the school?

We are looking for a passionate, well-qualified and conscientious English teacher, with a commitment to continuing professional development, to join our outstanding English Faculty. The post is suitable for either an NQT or a more experienced teacher. You would be required to teach up to and including GCSE. A-level teaching would also be possible for a suitable candidate.

English is at the core of the school’s academic curriculum and a named subject in the school’s specialism.

GCSE results in English have consistently been significantly above national averages. In 2017, 89% achieved Grade 4+. The department has also enjoyed considerable success in A-level English Literature, A-level Film Studies, A-level Media Studies and GCSE Media Studies. All English staff have their own rooms, equipped with projector, interactive whiteboard and internet access.

NQTs teach a reduced timetable, are allocated a mentor within their faculties and participate in a comprehensive induction programme led throughout the year by an Assistant Headteacher.

Moulsham High School has a close working relationship with an on-site early year’s childcare provider. This enables staff working at the school to receive a discount if full day nursery or wrap around care is required.

Short-listed candidates will be asked to complete a ‘Disclosure of Criminal Convictions’ form and, where appropriate, a Disclosure will be sought from the Criminal Records Bureau in the event of a successful application. A conviction will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining employment.

Visits to the school prior to application are most welcome. Please contact Kevin Adams using the details below, to make an appointment.

Closing date: Wednesday 31st January 2018

Application form and further details are available from the school website or from
