Fowey River Academy and the Leading Edge Academies Partnership are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher of English to work within the English team in supporting the faculty in the next stage of their development.

The successful candidate should be dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic and be able to demonstrate from the outset their love of the subject, but, moreover their commitment to improving the lives of our young people.

The extent of this role within the English Faculty will be negotiated with the successful candidate and the salary will be commensurate with the agreed role and the successful candidate’s experience. They will be an excellent team player who can contribute to the success of the faculty, whatever their previous professional experience. They will be prepared to develop their
own skills both working on their own and with the support of others and their first concern will always be to ensure our young people get the best teaching and support possible. We strive to help all our community flourish and seeing our staff as life-long learners helps build the resilience and aspirations of our students.

About Fowey River Academy
Fowey River Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Fowey, Cornwall. There are approximately 684 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
Fowey River Academy was established in 1692 as Fowey Free School, opening to 30 pupils from low income families. The school has since been a boarding and grammar school throughout the years. In 2014, it received academy status, changing its name from Fowey Community College to Fowey River Academy.
