We are seeking to appoint a professional and talented Teacher of English with excellent communication skills to teach throughout the age and ability range.  NQTs are welcome to apply.

We seek an enthusiastic, committed and forward looking professional who can contribute to the growth of this important subject area.  Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member, they will show how they have or will contribute strategies and resources to support this growing department and will show a thorough commitment to student learning.

A teacher acts as a role model and has a central role in promoting high standards for all students, imparting the values, skills and knowledge to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.  This post involves subject teaching and contributing to the development of the subject.

Students' attitudes to learning have a decisive bearing on their attainment and progress and such attitudes are strongly influenced by what happens in the classroom. High quality teaching is at the heart of Central Academy’s ethos and vision.

Keeping your subject exciting, relevant and enjoyable, you'll create an ambitious, innovative and motivating classroom. You'll inspire and challenge your students so that they develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their individual potential. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful, and rapidly improving academy. We are driven by a forward thinking philosophy and a vibrant, positive culture. In a friendly and welcoming school, with supportive colleagues, you'll be able to make a real impact on our academy, and on the lives of children across the country.

We are an inclusive employer and are happy to consider flexible working practices, part time or a job share if they will benefit you and the students of the Academy.

Central Academy is part of the United Learning Group and is situated in the city centre of Carlisle, close to the Scottish Borders and the Lake District and we benefit from a £30m new build.

Being part of United Learning, one of the leading school groups in the country, we offer unrivalled career development opportunities and support to ensure you achieve your ambitions.  United Learning has teamed up with Perkbox to offer you over 250 exclusive benefits, all through their easy-to-access platform and mobile app.  Featuring a huge range of perks from discounted cinema tickets and holidays, to money off meals out at restaurants and savings on food, gym memberships, technology and clothes shopping.  They also offer salary sacrifice schemes such as Childcare Vouchers and Cycle to Work – which offer tax and NI savings on new bikes and nursery care.
