We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join our enthusiastic and supportive English department.
At GCSE, we teach Eduqas WJEC specifications in both English Language and English Literature, and we have developed a focused curriculum from Year 7 to Year 11, which prepares students well for the rigors of their GCSE courses and beyond. At A Level we offer English Literature, English Language and Media Studies in conjunction with Outwood Academy Danum.
You will be able to access the extensive advice, support, resources, CPD and career opportunities available across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools.
The Academy is an 11 – 18 school. This is an opportunity to join our passionate department in a pivotal year as we continue to strive for excellence in all areas, transforming the lives of the young people in our care. 73% of students achieved 4+ in GCSE English in 2017 and we are relentless in making sustainable improvements which will continue to improve the achievements and life chances of our students.
We are committed to putting ‘Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives’. In 2013, we relocated to a new building with state-of-the-art facilities. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (Feb 2016) secured outstanding judgements in every category, noting that “standards are high and continue to rise for all pupils, including the disadvantaged”.
If you share our belief in putting students first, you can join us in the delightful setting of Woodlands model village, just north of Doncaster, and build on our exceptional record of achievement.
If you are interested in this role, we invite you to contact Lisa Angus, Associate Director of English, on L.Angus@outwood.com and you would be very welcome to visit our school at any time.
