Job overview

Chelsea Independent College is seeking a part-time teacher of ESL to work within a successful and vibrant department. The college at present educates students between the ages of 14 and 19, drawn from 46 different countries, on a variety of English programmes. The successful candidate will be flexible, able to work closely with colleagues in a supportive and nurturing department and across the school, and will be expected to contribute in a vital way to the college’s cross-faculty academic English strategy. Classes are small, and behavioural problems are few. The role would be paid on an hourly basis, with pay claimed every month, across three standard terms. Chelsea Independent College is an independent sixth form college offering a wide range of GCSE and A Levels.  Students are drawn from both the UK and internationally, with around 65% of students coming from 42 different countries. It also offers pre-A, International Foundation, and High School Term courses. Class sizes are on average 8 and capped at 10, and almost all students go on to Russell Group universities or the international equivalents thereof.
