Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of English on a full-time fixed-term basis from September 2021. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

The English Department is a close-knit team of specialists with a record of excellent organisation and learning initiatives which result in outstanding examination success. They are a leading department in many aspects.  They work cohesively and ensure consistency across all teaching groups and have high expectations of all students.  Their students enjoy the learning and teaching of the subject.  The Department currently consists of 8 full-time and three part-time teachers.  They are an extremely hard working, lively and friendly department who enjoy working together and sharing ideas.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach English and Literature to students of all abilities in Years 7 – 11
  • To deliver the contribution the department makes to ICT across the curriculum
  • To take charge of a tutor group 
  • To undertake such additional tasks as may be reasonably asked by the Head of Department
  • To carry out professional duties as detailed in the Conditions of Service

  • High expectations of self and others
