Newlands Junior College is a vocational college located in Glasgow, Scotland. The college is primarily focused on providing education and skills to young people aged 14-16 who have become disillusioned with education in their previous school, and need another chance to obtain some work-based qualifications to help them when they leave school. Newlands Junior College is based on an industrial estate, and boasts of a range of high-quality facilities and a more relaxed work-like atmosphere than exists in most schools. The college was established by Scottish businessman Jim McColl, and is nominally an independent school, however all students receive a full scholarship to study so no fees are charged for attendance.
