RESPONSIBLE TO: Headteacher
We are a Pupil Referral Unit, including a Hospital Education Service, a Home Tuition Provision and an Outreach Inclusion Support Team. We currently have a vacancy for an innovative, inspirational and experienced Teacher of English.

We wish to appoint an experienced and motivational teacher to teach the above subject up to GCSE level for years 7-11, and lead the improvement of the subject areas throughout the school. You will be required to have a history of good to outstanding record of managing pupils with SEMH and ensuring good progress.
This is a particularly challenging role and the successful candidate must be committed to creating a positive learning environment no matter what barriers they may face. You will need a high level of resilience and a commitment to working in an emotionally intelligent team to support vulnerable children.
If you are an exceptional and exerienced practitioner, creative and strength based in your approach, and believe you have the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to make a difference in the lives of some of our most vulnerable children then we would love to hear from you.
Suitable candidates will:
- Ideally have experience of working in a PRU or Alternative Provision with learners with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs or SEND, (although mainstream experience only would be considered).
- Be committed and have a passion for their specific area and achieving high standards in their work and high expectations for behaviour and learning.
- Be flexible, cheerful and enjoy working with children, parents and staff.
- Be able and willing to form a positive relationship with pupils in order to support their personal and social development in accordance with the school’s guideline
- Be consistent, calm and a reflective practitioner with a growth mind-set
