Tes seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of English on a full-time permanent basis from January 2022. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an academy that has transformed the educational opportunities and outcomes for girls and boys in Strood. The improvement in academic performance has been driven by a talented and committed workforce, the hard work of students, and support from parents and their community. The school is part of a renowned trust that will comprise 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 2,500 talented staff. The trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway.
The school is seeking to appoint a committed and passionate English specialist who believes in the power of their subject to transform the lives of young people. You will be part of an experienced, supportive department that work collaboratively; sharing ideas and delivering innovative teaching to support and improve learning. You will also take young people on a journey into great works of literature which entice them into other worlds, other wisdoms and the wellsprings of humanity. Through literature and language, you take the voice of a young person in all its raw passion and skillfully refine and enrich it so it can become clear and compelling.
The Successful Candidate:
- Good honours degree
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Can teach up to KS5
