The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a highly imaginative and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our team at Sirius Academy West. The right candidate will deliver high quality teaching and learning within the English department. You will teach across the ability range at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach at KS5 for an appropriate candidate.

Like us, you know that English underpins every aspect of daily living. You recognise that by sharing the greatest texts in history and sharpening pupils’ language skills, you can release their creativity and set their imaginations free. Whether you’re an ECT or experienced in teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5, we want someone who can bring out the best in every child and make all aspects of English engaging.

The successful candidate will be a consistently good or outstanding practitioner. You will be committed to raising the achievement of all learners by ensuring that teaching across the department is of the highest quality and is innovative, engaging and enjoyable whilst committed to driving standards to ensure whole school impact. The successful candidate will be working with a team of dedicated staff in a very motivating, forward-thinking environment.
