About Morecambe Community High School

Morecambe Community High School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Morecambe, Lancashire. It is a community state school. Larger than average for a school of its type, it will provide 1,450 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.

The school was founded as Morecambe Grammar School in 1919, amalgamating with Euston Road Secondary Modern in 1972 to become the Morecambe Community High School it is today.

Executive Headteacher

Mrs Victoria Michael

Values and Vision

The school values are "learn", "believe", "achieve" and "thrive", and staff encourage the students to “Be the best that you can be”. Extracurricular activities are important, with drama, Minecraft, art, music and chess clubs on offer. Morecambe Community is also one of only a few schools in the north-west of England offering outdoor education as part of its curriculum.

Over the years, there have been a number of significant expansions to the school. Its Lawther Library was opened in 2002 and a floodlit pitch that opened in 2009 is used for netball and tennis; the school also has a pitch set up for football and hockey.

Making Morecambe great again

The school benefits from strong local partner schools, supporting it on its improvement journey. We are looking for courageous, talented staff to work with us to rapidly develop a school with great potential!
