We seek to appoint a qualified, driven and successful Teacher of English.  The successful candidate will be an excellent Teacher of English, It is an excellent opportunity for either someone wishing to further develop their career, with development opportunities or an NQT.

The English Department at St Bonaventure’s is a consistently high achieving department – in 2019 we achieved 79% 9-4 in GCSE Language and 86% 9-4 in Literature. We have been a member department of the Prince's Teaching Institute since 2013 and in 2016 we will progress to Associate Department status with the P.T.I. 

We place a high value on extending and enthusing our learners through subject-based activities that go beyond the curriculum  through our membership of the Old Vic New Voices Schools’ Theatre Club and our active involvement in Newham borough’s Every Child a Theatre Goer initiative. We believe that expert subject knowledge is the bedrock of all outstanding English teachers and offer a comprehensive programme of CPD to ensure that the needs of our teachers as well as our learners are met.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher who has a passion for English, can teach creatively and can inspire pupils. You will have evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour.
