This is a maternity cover post and therefore the role is fixed for one academic year, dependent on when the teacher permanently assigned to this post, returns.

About the Department

The English department is a highly collaborative, creative and innovative team of 14 teachers and 2 Academic Coaches. We have created a mutually supportive culture and greatly enjoy working together. Our curriculum is rich in high quality, challenging literature from across time and across the world. Lessons in English aim to encourage independence, enquiry, creativity and academic rigour. Speaking and listening is at the centre of students’ daily classroom experience and lessons always provide opportunities for discussion and debate. We place a strong emphasis on creating fun, memorable learning experiences for our students. We have excellent GCSE results and our next step is to achieve outstanding.
