TEACHER OF ENGLISH
Temporary Full Time Contract (maternity cover) – March 2019 to December 2019
The Governors are seeking to appoint a talented, dynamic and committed teacher to join the English department on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher of English to join a successful department working as a close built team.
The appointed candidate is required to start from 18 March 2019 (approx.) until December 2019.

Birkdale High School is a non-denominational boys' secondary school in Southport, Merseyside. At its most recent inspection, there were 780 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
The town of Southport is located on the coast of North West England and is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK. Birkdale High School is located alongside the grounds of Hillside Golf Club. The school has held academy status since 2012.

“Most recent academy progress data indicate that there will be further significant improvement at GCSE five A* to C including English and mathematics this year. Boys are making at least good progress and this was confirmed during the inspection through the observations of lessons and scrutiny of current work. Some boys, particularly the more able, are making outstanding progress.”
