The Role

Are you passionate about English and determined to make a real difference to the students in our care? The English Department is developing at pace and we see this role as key in building a team of incredible subject experts. With a new ambitious knowledge rich curriculum underpinning all we do, you’ll be joining at a pivotal moment and co-leading a team who take great responsibility in ensuring 100% of our students gain access to the powerful knowledge needed to succeed. With a focus on Year 8 and 9, you’ll be responsible for becoming an expert author, taking a lead in constructing our knowledge rich curriculum and empowering Team English to become expert authors.

The Person

So, who are you? Given that you’ll be leading on our knowledge rich curriculum, you’ll need to expertly impart your knowledge, skills and understanding, to all of our young people, whilst engaging them in their learning with consistent routines. You’ll also need to inspire and motivate Team English on our journey to great success.

You’ll need to embody our values, leading by example and having the drive and motivation to continually improve, reflecting on your current practice, whilst actively engaging, and leading our departmental and whole school CPD offering.
