Uppingham are looking for an outstanding Teacher of English who can inspire, challenge and empower our students to enjoy English at the highest academic levels.
Teachers at Uppingham play a full part in the life of this seven-day week boarding school, by taking on responsibilities in addition to classroom teaching.
The person appointed will be a strong, dynamic character with excellent subject knowledge . This position could equally suit an NQT or an experienced teacher. Applications are also welcome from graduates seeking to qualify whilst working.

“Pupils demonstrate positive attitudes towards work and study. They have good literacy skills at all ages and articulate ideas and opinions fluently. Work is generally presented neatly and pupils’ note-taking is effective. They develop good numeracy skills and their capacity to think critically is notable. Creative abilities are well developed and their exploration of ideas is particularly marked in their enrichment activities. Pupils’ study habits are good. In the lessons observed, pupils worked very well with each other, and also worked well independently. They enjoy their work and this stems in part from the good-natured atmosphere in lessons. Pupils use information and communications technology (ICT) proficiently.”
