Candidate profile The teacher will be mainly employed in the subject delivery of English as reasonably directed, within the Prep and Senior phases of the school. Essential Experience in teaching English to at least IGCSE level. Familiarity with Prep phase curriculum and willingness to teach younger age range. Able to work well in a team setting. Adaptable Desirable Experience working in an international school. Experience of post 16 curriculum, preferably A level. Understanding of how to work with second language learners. Department Profile English is a core subject for all students up to Year 11 and an option at AS/A level: currently following the CIE specifications at both levels. Students are very much differentiated throughout the Prep and Senior phases with a variety of qualification paths open to all.

Harrow School Shanghai is a co-educational day school for students aged from 18 months to 18 years. The teaching is based upon the EYFS Framework and the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs for Removes and Fifth Form (Years 10 and 11), and A levels within the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13). - Pre-Prep-Years 1- 4
- Prep -Years 5- 8
- Senior: Shells, Removes and Fifth Form (Years 9–11) and Sixth Form (Year 12-13)
The School is located in a modern custom-built facility, which accurately reflects the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. The School combines elements of educational philosophy, practice and traditions from Harrow School in London within the context of the international minded-set of a diverse student body in Shanghai. It is envisaged that the School will eventually grow to a roll of approximately 950. As with the other Harrow Schools, Shanghai’s vision, 'Leadership for a better world', is realised by means of a characteristically Harrow approach to schooling which demands of students and teachers high academic attainment, involvement in a rich array of extra-curricular activities, and engagement in high quality pastoral support structures, particularly the House system. Students are assigned into Houses where their which their academic and all-round well-being is monitored, nurtured and supported.
