The School itself is located in the charming and scenic Staré Mesto District, in a friendly and quiet residential area of Bratislava, near the beautiful Horsky Park. A new Sixth Form centre was opened in August 2020 to meet rising demand, and the School has ambitious and compelling plans for further development. As we grow in size, we need a new member of the teaching faculty who in every way is willing to play their part in continuing our successful model and helping to develop the ethos, character and structures of both a sustainable and ethos centred school. We have a clear approach to education centred on our Learning Mountain, which is underpinned by our Learner Qualities: Respect, Resilience, Creativity, Curiosity, Kindness, Independence and Reflection.
Put simply, our school motto is “Inspiration and Aspiration” (Inspirate et Aspirationem) – as CIS educators, we all offer our very best to each single one of our students, regardless of age or ability, and in return, we expect them to try to become the very best version of their unique selves and to fulfil their potential wherever their skills and interests lie. Whilst we are a modern school with no uniform at present, we also have great respect for the heritage and history of our country, Europe and the globe as a whole. We also seek to be part of its successful future.
Our teachers are hardworking, passionate and dedicated to individual student progress. They set high expectations for themselves and their students in relation to the progress of each individual and the fulfilment of their personal goals. At CIS, teachers and non-teachers, all CIS Educators, endeavour each day to place the CIS Approach at the heart of everything they do.
CIS also has a rich programme of co-curricular activities in four domains, a renowned outdoor learning programme and friendly and competitive sports programme. Our teachers play a full part in the cultural, educational, and co-curricular life of the School. We are also proud to count former and current international athletes in various disciplines amongst our teaching staff and student body.
