We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of English. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and be able to motivate students through inspirational teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join a thriving school and work with students who are keen to learn. The ability to teach A Level is desirable. The department currently has twelve full-time and two part-time members of staff. It has a wealth of experienced teachers who all work well together.
The school has a proven record of success at GCSE and A Level. In summer 2018, 84% of pupils gained A*-C/9-4 grades in five or more subjects with 86% of students also gaining a grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics (62% gaining grade 5 or above). The average attainment 8 score was 56.24. The progress 8 measure rose from 0.27 to 0.37 in 2017 and we are expecting similar for 2018. 29% of GCSE grades awarded were at 7+/A+ and 39% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate. At A Level, 99% of pupils achieved A*-E with an average grade per candidate of a B-.
Opportunities don’t arise very often to teach at a school like Arden and we are delighted to be offering the chance for someone to join the department. The Academy provides excellent CPD opportunities, pension and cycle to work scheme and as a Multi Academy Trust we offer fantastic opportunities for ambitious staff to progress. Few other places offer the chance to simply teach motivated pupils devoted to learning.
