TEACHER OF ENGLISH
Full Time Position from September 2019
King’s Bruton is an HMC co-educational boarding and day school of 350 pupils aged 13-18.
An inspirational and suitably-qualified teacher of English is required to join this very successful department from September 2019. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher with either a specialist or English-related degree.
This is an opportunity for a passionate English teacher to make a genuine difference in the English department and to the progress of pupils. The successful applicant will teach GCSE English as part of the core curriculum, whilst also delivering literacy/ English support to pupils on a 1-1/ small group basis.
At KS4 English forms part of the core curriculum, where pupils study both AQA English Language and Literature. English remains a very popular A Level option and pupils benefit from a fantastic programme of enrichment to further enhance and support teaching. In 2018, 74% of pupils achieved an A*-B grade at A Level with many pupils going on to study English at University.
The role would suit a recently qualified teacher, or someone with more classroom experience who would enjoy the challenge of joining a dynamic and successful department. The successful applicant will be a creative and passionate teacher who enjoys helping pupils of all abilities succeed.
