Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of English. We are a large and successful department and there will be an opportunity to be involved in curriculum development by working with others to plan for effective teaching and learning. 

Successful candidates must:

  • Have a strong track record as an excellent teacher of English who is committed to maximising the achievement of every student in the subject or if an NQT, the ability to demonstrate you are developing outstanding practice 
  • Be a passionate advocate of the subject who contributes effectively to departmental and whole school improvement 
  • Be able to teach across the age and ability range at age 11-16 and A level 
  • Be eager to become a supportive Form Tutor 
  • Be able and willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school 
  • Have high expectations of themselves and others 
  • Be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Be flexible and a good team player
