This is a very exciting time for the College as we are ranked in the top 2% of schools nationally for progress. The English Department is ‘Outstanding’ and achieved its best ever GCSE results in 2017 with the new, more rigorous GCSE specifications. 81% of students achieved a Grade 4 (Standard pass) and above, and 64% achieved a Grade 5 (Strong Pass) and above, which is significantly above the national average, and ranks the Department within the top 2 schools within Southampton.

The Governors wish to appoint an outstanding practitioner who can offer vision, energy and creativity in the teaching of English. The English department play a key role in the College’s achievement and the department are a cohesive unit who demand the best from each other and from their students. The right candidate would benefit from entering a supportive environment with a blend of skills, innovation and experience. There is no requirement to be Catholic and we would welcome NQTs, as well as more experienced members of staff to apply.
