Teacher of English

Suitable for an NQT

Permanent Post – Main Pay Scale - Required for September 2018

“As an exceptional school we give children the confidence, skills and security to be the authors of their own life stories, whilst sustaining our core values and moving forward dynamically and collaboratively to become a school of national and international repute”.

Ulverston Victoria High School is an exceptional school which is defined equally by its high academic achievements and its warmth and inclusivity. Our students and their teachers work hard, seek to achieve the very highest standards in all they do and are respectful of each other and of their community.

We wish to appoint, with effect from 1st September 2018, an inspiring, innovative and creative individual to join our forward thinking English Department to teach at higher GCSE standard and with the ability to teach to A-Level standard. The English Faculty is a lively and exciting place to be with a team of eleven enthusiastic and committed teachers.  This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional and dynamic newly qualified teacher to play a pivotal role in a high-performing English team throughout the key stages.

The successful candidate will be clearly in tune with our values and our ethos of “children first” and be totally committed to providing an exciting and rewarding experience in English for all our students regardless of their academic ability. This is an ideal opportunity for an NQT, who has lots of potential, to develop into an exceptional practitioner over the next few years, as part of a high performing team.  Equal consideration will be given to both experienced teachers and NQTs. A full and appropriate induction programme is available for all NQTs.

UVHS is a brilliant place to be a student or teacher. There is a dynamic, caring atmosphere that pervades the whole school and a real desire to inspire and achieve. The department thrives on exploring new ways of teaching and there is a real buzz of enthusiasm for the subject in the school. English is a vital and highly valued area of study therefore this is a key appointment for UVHS.

If you are a candidate committed to high quality teaching and learning who wants to develop your career in an exceptional school, working closely with colleagues who share that passion, then we would be pleased to hear from you.
