Values and vision

Hemsworth Arts and Community Academy’s ethos is that it will all do the very best it can to enable the young people in its care to maximise their potential in everything that they do.

The school believes the vast range of opportunities on offer for students and the wider community is central to its success in promoting positive attitudes and lifelong learning. Its central focus will continue to be the commitment to ensure that the Academy does its very best to serve the community and that it raises the achievement of all.

Hemsworth Arts and Community Academy aims to ensure its students are: successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve; confident individuals, who are able to lead safe, healthy and fulfilling lives; responsible citizens, who make positive contributions to society.

Ofsted

“The Principal and the senior leadership team have established a clear and accurate understanding of the academy’s strengths and weaknesses. Significant strength is emerging in middle leadership, particularly in English, history and the arts, where achievement is now good. The sixth form is good. Students make good progress overall and are well supported in their studies. The academy’s work to support weaker readers and disadvantaged students is sharply focused and effective.”
