We are looking to make a permanent appointment for September 2017 of a dynamic teacher of English to role model high quality learning and teaching and to maximise the achievement of students. We believe this is an exciting opportunity for a newly-qualified or experienced teacher to join our successful, high-performing and friendly English Department.
Applications are invited from suitably-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teachers to teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach English to Key Stage 5 level would also be desirable, but is not essential and would not prevent suitable candidates from being shortlisted, if they meet the person specification.
Please visit the Vacancies section of our school website www.highamlaneschool.co.uk for further details and to download an application form.

Higham Lane School is a high-performing 11-18 comprehensive academy with approximately 1330 students on roll, based on an attractive site in the north east of Nuneaton on the Warwickshire-Leicestershire border. Our school is very popular and well regarded; it is heavily over-subscribed at entry. Our students have the benefit of working in a school that has a happy, caring and purposeful environment. The School’s mission is: “Helping learners succeed” and our students are encouraged to do their very best in every aspect of their lives and to reach the highest standards. Higham Lane School is strongly committed to ensuring that all of the young people in our care make excellent academic progress and we take great pride in having both high achievement and high attainment. In 2016 the School achieved some of its highest-ever results, with 82% of students achieving 5+A*-C grades including English & Maths, with pass rates of 85% A*-C in Maths and 93% A*-C in English. Our Progress 8 score is an impressive 0.48. These results make Higham Lane one of the two highest-achieving non-selective secondary schools in Warwickshire. In March 2015 and February 2016 we received a personal letter from the Minister of State for Schools, to congratulate us for the “excellent performance of our pupils” in 2014 and 2015. The letter recognised that “the School is one of the top 100 performing non-selective state funded schools in England”.
