Fowey River Academy and the Leading Edge Academies Partnership are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher of English and Drama to work within the English team and Performing Arts teams in supporting the academy in the next stage of its development.
The English Faculty has a good track record in securing success for our students and is made up of a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals. Our Creative Industries Faculty has grown over the last few years and we are now looking at creating a separate Performing Arts Faculty to further broaden the offer our academy delivers. The successful candidate should be dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic and be able to demonstrate from the outset their love of the two subjects, but moreover, their commitment to improving the lives of our students. These two subjects offer an excellent opportunity to do just this for the colleaugue who understands the pivotal role they offer to the enrichment and success of young people.
Fowey River Academy is evolving fast and we aim to be the school of choice in the local area. We have just joined a new, high-performing MAT and have secured multi-million pound funding to upgrade our facilities and develop world-class learning environments. This will be a superb professional opportunity for newly qualified staff and experienced colleagues alike to be part of the reinvigorated future which the academy is now embracing.
We are Fowey River Academy
We are …ready. We are …ambitious. We are… taking back control. We are ….making history.
We want…. go getters. We want… maker creators. We want…deep thinkers. We want high flyers.
The Himalayas do not come without altitude sickness, nor Hong Kong without the sensory overload. The world is a melting pot of experiences and meaningful moments that can help to define any individual. We are Fowey River Academy, and with connections to over 30 countries and counting, there are no limits to how far we can go. Coming?
There is the opportunity for the post to be part-time in one or other of the subjects. The extent of this role within the English and Performing Arts Faculties will be negotiated with the successful candidate and the salary will be commensurate with the agreed role, the successful candidate’s experience and the full or part-time nature of the role. They will be an excellent team player who can contribute to the success of the faculty, whatever their previous professional experience. They will be prepared to develop their own skills both working on their own and with the support of others and their first concern will always be to ensure our young people get the best teaching and support possible. We strive to help all our community flourish and seeing our staff as life-long learners helps build the resilience and aspirations of our students.
