Sponsored by the Anglican Diocese of Gloucester and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clifton who aim to build and develop an Academy at the heart of the community it serves with an emphasis on body, mind and spirit - the whole person. Our vision as an Academy is summed up by OCIC - Outstanding, Christian, Inclusive and Community.

The Design Technology department currently offers a range of qualifications at KS4, including WJEC Level ½ Construction, AQA Product Design, WJEC, AQA Engineering, Edexcel Jamie Oliver Home Cooking Skills, AQA Technical Award Food and Catering and AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition.  At KS5 currently AQA Product Design and WJEC Level 3 Food Science and Nutrition is offered.

The Academy is looking for an outstanding Teacher of Food to join the DT department following the retirement of a long standing member of the team. We are looking for someone who can work closely with the Head of Design Technology to help take DT to the next level of development, both in terms of academic opportunities offered to the students and in how we embrace new developments within the department. Being able to teach across all three key stages and be multidisciplinary is a distinct advantage, but not essential.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Successful applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance.

Values and vision

The new-build facilities offer a place of learning and discovery in an academy that prides itself on being outward-facing to parents, parishes, other schools, community groups, employers, colleges and universities.

Ofsted report

“This is a good school. The academy is improving rapidly because of the outstanding leadership provided by the Academy Principal. He is supported well by other key senior staff, subject leaders and governors. The extremely positive ethos in the academy leads to exceptionally good behaviour by students around the building and site.”
