Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Do you want to be part of a passionate, supportive and cohesive department?

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that truly values the development of its staff and will allow the successful candidate to develop their leadership and teaching skills.

The Role

As Teacher of Food Technology and Health and Social Care, you will be supporting the effective delivery of an outstanding Food Preparation and Nutrition and Health and Social Care curriculum that enables the highest level of pupil progress.

In return, you will be in an exceptional and supportive environment that will further develop your professional skills and ambition.

This role is ideal for a current head of department or an ambitious professional who feels ready to move into middle management.

The Department

The Department has worked hard to develop a tradition of success at GCSE both in Food Preparation and Nutrition and Health and Social Care, and is rightly proud of its achievement. At Key Stage 3, Food Preparation and Nutrition is a fixed curriculum offer for every student and they have two lessons a fortnight.

At Key Stage 4, we offer WJEC Food Preparation and Nutrition and OCR Cambridge National Health and Social Care. All of these are popular choices and, as such, this is an exciting opportunity to join and help drive a popular subject whilst, at the same time, maintain high standards of progress.

The Department currently consists of two specialists.

Durham County Council is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We want to develop a more diverse workforce and we positively welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Applicants with disabilities will be invited for an interview if the essential job criteria are met.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
