Priory is a very successful school, graded “Good” by OFSTED. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake.
The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint a temporary Teacher of Food Technology, full-time until 31 August 2018 to commence in January 2018 (an earlier start could be negotiated for the right candidate).
Food preparation and nutrition sits within the Technology faculty and benefits from a generous allocation of curriculum time. We are a department of three staff, and have two dedicated food preparation classrooms along with a range of resources to support the delivery of the subject.
We currently offer GCSE food preparation and nutrition as an examination course, which is a popular option. Our exam results are consistently excellent, and there may be the possibility of expanding the examination courses that we offer. Our philosophy is to foster a love of cooking, and to develop the skills and knowledge required to allow students to progress to post 16 options. We have a proud tradition in this area.
