We are seeking to appoint an ambitious Teacher of Food Technology in our Hospitality and Catering team to work in this forward-thinking, Ofsted rated “Good” Academy.   

The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3 and 4, working with dedicated colleagues and well-behaved students that are ambitious to succeed.

A strong behaviour policy and shared-resources enable teachers to focus on delivering great outcomes for pupils. Support for rapid career progression will be provided for the right candidate. NQTs welcome to apply.

The Department

Our ethos as a Technology department is that we are a faculty where curious, inquisitive minds are developed into independent, confident, resilient problem solvers not afraid to take risks, this is embodied in to our everyday teaching where we strive to provide an inclusive curriculum that prepares and develops our students in to the designers, engineers, architects, engineers and chefs of the future.

Through our hospitality and catering curriculum we ensure our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to lead healthy lives by showing them how to prepare balanced meals as part of a healthy diet. Our curriculum lays a foundation for all students to experience food, learning cooking skills and aspects of healthy eating, consumer awareness and Food safety, in order to become more independent and to be able to make informed choices now and in the future.

As a department we are very proud of our extensive Aspire provision. The programme has been designed to further enhance the students Design and Technology knowledge through Catering and Technology clubs. Through the Aspire Programme students are entered into national and international competitions such as LEGO Mindstorms, Morson Futures Challenge and the F1 in schools competition, these will further develop the students not only through their knowledge of Design and Technology but also socially and morally.
