Teachers of Foundation Studies

MPS/UPS – Two Teachers Required - Any specialism, any phase (secondary or primary).

Suitable for newly qualified NQT’s and experienced Primary OR Secondary Teachers

Required for September 2019 (July start available for NQT’s)

We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and creative Teachers of Foundation Studies with either a primary or secondary background and experience in any discipline.  We are expanding our current innovative Thematic Curriculum to include all 150 new Year 7 students arriving in September 2019; you will be joining a passionate and supportive team in a school where all staff have a genuine commitment to educate the next generation and a school in an exciting phase of its journey to achieve the highest standards.

You will teach 17 periods a week exclusively in Year 7 Foundation Studies, working closely with a dedicated team of six experts to develop learning and literacy through a Thematic Curriculum.  Planning time for the team is dedicated in the remaining eight periods to enable the highest quality collaborative CPD and sharing of expertise including exceptional standards of assessment and quality assurance.  You must be a strong classroom practitioner and team player first and foremost with an expertise in any subject, capable of providing exceptional challenge and support for students.  Primary colleagues are more than welcome to apply as we place improving literacy at the centre of the principal aims of the subject.

Turves Green Boys’ School is a modern and forward thinking 11–16 School with approximately 700 students on roll from 2019.  We are a ‘Good’ School (Ofsted 2014) and moved into a brand new, state of the art building in November 2016, part of which will be designated for Foundation Studies from 2019.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the school in order to gain a first-hand flavour for the school and meet our fantastic students; we would be delighted to explain further the vision for school improvement and what the role entails in further detail, meeting the team already in post.

Simply apply online by clicking the button or for further details, please contact the school by telephone or e-mail.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful candidates.
