Job overview

Rodborough School is seeking a well-qualified, ambitious, enthusiastic and creative teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French) to join our excellent Modern Foreign Languages Department.  The ability to offer German at Key Stage 3 would be an advantage.

Candidates will be strong classroom practitioners and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the teaching of languages that is evident from their classroom practice to date. They will have a clear understanding of what makes a successful languages lesson and will understand the importance of effective collaboration with their colleagues within the department and across the wider school.  They should be able to demonstrate that they have the vision and energy for promotion to Subject Leader and beyond.

Outcomes for students in languages (German and French) at Rodborough are consistently good at GCSE. This post offers an opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and expertise in a successful and supportive department that has a justifiably strong reputation for making modern foreign languages enjoyable for its students. Uptake at GCSE reflects the positive attitudes students have to languages as a result of their experience in the lower school.
