Job overview
We are looking to appoint a French Teacher, Second in MFL with initiative, drive and determination to promote a forward thinking and creative approach to teaching and learning within the department. This role is for 12 months to cover maternity leave within the MFL Department. Languages are important part of the curriculum at Esher High School, and all students study both Spanish and French throughout Years 7, 8 & 9. Both subjects receive a positive intake of students at GCSE level each year, with students excelling in both areas. In 2018, 93% of students achieved a grade 9-4 in Spanish and 85% of students achieved a grade 9-4 in French.
We have a fully comprehensive intake and this job will provide an excellent opportunity for an innovative teacher who will
• work with the Head of MFL to provide strategic leadership to the department
• assist the Head of MFL to deliver outstanding student progress
• be passionate about MFL and able to inspire students
• be able to demonstrate a positive and creative approach in the classroom
• commit to the continuous process of raising attainment within the Department
• promote and contribute to a wide range of extra-curricular activities
• share and promote the school’s vision of high standards and success for all
For the right candidate, Spanish is preferable but not essential.
