Modern Foreign Languages at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College

The College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, high performing and enthusiastic individual to the full-time post of Teacher of French, who will lead and inspire students.  The ability to offer another language at A level is desirable.

MFL is a highly performing department within our Outstanding College. Currently the department offers two languages at A Level: French and Spanish. The department is outstanding with consistently excellent results: ALPS grade 2 and 3 for more than three years, with outstanding high grades. There are around 100 students who study across the two subjects. The department has established excellent relationships with high schools and every year Notre Dame is seen as the destination of choice to study a language, hence the need for this full time post.

We are now seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher who has the drive and enthusiasm to provide a high quality and challenging learning experience for our students whilst also ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment.

The Modern Languages Department at Notre Dame is welcoming, successful and enthusiastic.

The department has excellent resources, with a languages’ laboratory and many online materials such as Dynamic Learning. The department attends language conferences run by local Universities. Annual international trips to support studies are seen as an essential part of the curriculum and students also have the opportunity to undertake work experience abroad.

There is a very friendly and professional atmosphere within the department and a strong emphasis on encouraging a positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success.  There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and an encouragement to undertake CPD. We would welcome applications from recently qualified teachers and NQTs.
