Set in a purpose-built, mountainside campus in China’s ancient capital, the British School of Nanjing caters to students from over 25 nationalities.  Our growing school has a wonderful friendly atmosphere and benefits from a low student to teacher ratio, technology to support learning, and excellent facilities. Our curriculum is based on, but not constrained by, the English National Curriculum. We are seeking an outstanding and experienced teacher. Applicants must be able to teach Geography to A-level. Candidates able to offer a second subject such as Business Studies or History will be at an advantage.

Suitable candidates for this post will:

  • Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE or similar).
  • Be able to teach Geography to A-Level,
  • Have experience and excellent knowledge of teaching the English National Curriculum/UK examination boards. A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience is essential.
  • Understand and be able to articulate what constitutes outstanding classroom practice
  • Want to play an active role in the co-curricular life of a busy international school.
  • Possess the ambition and enthusiasm to want to play a key role in shaping and developing an outstanding school.

Remuneration includes a competitive salary, housing, international medical cover, annual flights, relocation allowance and bursaries for accompanying children.

In January 2016 we moved to our new and modern Mountain View campus which is located south of Nanjing city. It is a 30-minute drive from the centre (Xinjiekou) and sits nestled on a quiet residential street at the foot of Cuiping Mountain at the boundary of the Jiangjun National Park.

Views from the campus overlook the new outdoor sports and play areas and the forested mountains beyond. The school is in close proximity to prominent expatriate residential areas.
