We aim to be the best we can, in all that we do for our young people and to give them a high quality educational experience
Our curriculum provides a full range of subjects from Sl-S6. We aim to meet the needs of all our pupils, providing a curriculum that is appropriate in terms of breadth, depth and challenge. Our broad general education (BGE) incorporates pace, challenge and personalisation and choice, and this allows pupils to be ready to meet the demands of our senior phase curriculum, which has subjects ranging from National 2 level through to Advanced Higher. We also link with other East Lothian schools to provide opportunities for study across a wide range of other subjects and specialist academies.
The Geography Department forms part of the Social Subjects Faculty (Business Education, Geography, History and Modern Studies). The department delivers the full range of Social Subjects courses, is innovative, inclusive and attracts a high uptake in certificated courses.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and with the ability to communicate their enthusiasm to the pupils and other staff and with a track record of delivering Geography courses. They should be prepared to demonstrate a commitment to self-evaluation and lifelong professional learning.
Teachers who join East Lothian Council during the school session will only be entitled to a pro-rata salary and annual leave entitlement until the end of the session.
